Historic Preservation Architect

Shalom Baranes Associates is seeking full time Historic Preservation Architects with 2 to 20 years of experience on various preservation projects at the federal, state, and/or local levels involving renovations, additions, and/or new construction.

In this role, candidates will:

-Participate in on-site assignments, including existing conditions surveys, evaluations, and measurements

-Prepare existing conditions assessments, historic structures reports or similar work with historic structures

-Develop and coordinate construction documentation, including specifications

-Coordinate the work of consultants

-Ensure that the contract drawings reflect design intent   

The role requires strong technical skills in:

  • Technical documentation

Required qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in architecture with a focus in Historic Preservation
  • 2+ years of architectural experience with historic resources
  • Successful history of working closely with design teams to translate design into production drawings
  • Basic skills in Revit, Bluebeam, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes and local regulatory processes
